Welcome RIsing 9th graders!

We’re thrilled that you’re interested in theatre at Cambridge High School! Though still a young program, under the leadership of Mr. Cory Kelley, we’ve already achieved remarkable success.

  • In 2020, during the early days of the pandemic, the AJC recognized us for our innovative approach to theatre with The Occurrence at Sleepy Hollow.

  • In 2021, our GHSA One Act Play, The Diary of Anne Frank, earned State Runner-Up in 6A.

  • In 2023, we became Georgia High School Association 5A State Champions with The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.

What to Take?

  • ALL-IN!

Passionate about theatre? Audition for our Advanced Company! Open to dedicated students from all Acting levels (1-4), this class is for those actively involved in our after-school program. Advanced Company produces three shows—our contest one-act play, musical, and the spring production.

Held during 6th period, rehearsals start in class and continue after school, reducing overall after-school commitments.* Calendars with details will be provided before auditions.

    Required company fees apply.

*Tech Week will require additional time.

  • I love theatre, but I'm so busy!

We offer Acting 1-4 for students who are looking to develop their craft as actors, but don’t want to do so with the commitment of being involved after-school. Acting 1-4 will teach you methods and styles to help grow you as a performer, and will let you know better whether to pursue Advanced Company in future years.

  • I WAS BORN TO SING, DANCE, AND ACT

Musical Theatre is a dynamic course where students refine their skills in singing, acting, and dance, co-taught by Ms. Watts and Mr. Kelley. Any student who wishes to participate in our school musical must be involved in Musical Theatre or Advanced Drama to audition.

  • I LOVE THEATRE BUT PREFER BACKSTAGE!

We offer Technical Theatre 1-4 for any student who is interested in creating for the stage.

If you're fully committed to Technical Theatre, have room in your schedule, and want to join ADV. COMPANY, let me know! Some students enjoy both to observe rehearsals during class, inspiring their creative and construction process.
